Christ the King: A Global Triumph
The close of November 2025 was marked by an awe-inspiring worldwide event: the Global Eucharistic Processions for Christ the King, a profound display of faith and devotion that extended Christ’s reign across the globe. This magnificent, global act of Catholic fidelity provided a glorious context for the local devotions celebrated in Perth.
On November 23rd, the faithful of Perth gathered to participate in this global movement, holding their own venerable Christ the King Procession. Our own Father Paul Fox from the Divine Mercy Shrine proudly participated, joining Father Doug Harris, Father Tadeusz Seremet, Father Peter Meo and Father Elver Delicano in a beautiful extension of God’s grace through the blessing of the graves and the blessing of the waterways, sanctifying both the departed and the very foundation of the land.
The day reached its spiritual zenith as Archbishop Emeritus B.J Hickey consecrated Australia to Christ the King. It was a truly magnificent and historic day in the City of Perth, confirming the nation’s spiritual allegiance to its sovereign Lord amidst a global chorus of adoration.
The King in His Armor: Manifestations of Divine Glory
This period of grace has been preceded by other signs of God’s extraordinary presence at the Divine Mercy Shrine. Earlier this year, in a visible manifestation of His glorious sovereignty, the very image of The Divine Mercy behind the altar illuminated in a spectacular fashion. The light that struck the canvas made it appear as if Jesus Christ, our King of Kings, was wearing armor, similar to the battle-ready attire worn by Saint Joan of Arc.
This sign was a profound reminder that the Christ we adore is not only the merciful Redeemer but also the Victorious Warrior, the one who triumphed over sin and death, whose presence fortifies His Church for spiritual battle. We stand in Adoration of His awesome power and Glory.
Miraculous Light and the Real Presence
Just four days after the Perth procession, on November 27th, the universal Church celebrated the Feast of the Miraculous Medal, commemorating the apparition of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris. On this significant Marian feast, an event of profound grace unfolded at the Divine Mercy Shrine, illuminating the very heart of our worship.
During a moment of profound Eucharistic prayer, a light, a light not ordinary, but divinely sourced, suddenly entered the Shrine. This divine ray struck first the Sacred Heart image at the side of the altar, then it struck Father Paul Fox’s back and, in a breathtaking instant, finally and dramatically lit up the Monstrance.
As captured in the above photograph, the effect was one of sudden, intense brilliance. The gold of the sacred vessels and the Monstrance itself seemed to catch and amplify this unique luminosity, appearing significantly brighter than normal. This spectacular, tangible illumination served as a heavenly confirmation, a dazzling signature upon the altar.
Beauty and Adoration
This event is not to be understood as a mere coincidence or consequence of natural phenomena. It is, rather, a gracious and miraculous intrusion of the supernatural into the temporal. It is a powerful, unmistakable testimony to the unwavering truth of the Catholic Faith: the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
The Lord Jesus, present to us in His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, visibly manifested His Glory through light. The Monstrance, designed to display the consecrated Host, became a throne of radiant Beauty and a beacon of Divine Mercy, proving that the Blessed Sacrament is alive. It is the living, pulsating heart of Christ’s presence among His people. Through this radiant sign, the Lord Himself called attention to His sacrificial, self-giving love, which flows perpetually from the Sacred Host.
May this extraordinary demonstration of divine Glory and Adoration inspire all the faithful to renew their devotion and commitment to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, trusting always in His Divine Mercy. We pray that this light, which briefly shone upon the Monstrance, may now shine ever brightly within the hearts of all who adore Him.
