As a community rooted in the Divine Mercy of Jesus, we are continually called to be a voice of compassion, justice, and active support for one another. Recently, Cáit Folan-Sfakianakis, a dedicated friend of the Divine Mercy Shrine community, shared an important e-petition currently hosted by the Parliament of Western Australia.

Our Parish Priest, Father Paul Fox, has looked closely at this initiative and is strongly encouraging our shrine community and friends to stand behind it.

What is the petition about?

The petition calls on the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia to oppose any moves to cancel or replace the traditional reading of the Lord’s Prayer at the opening of parliamentary sessions.

As Catholics, we know that building a just and loving society requires our active participation and the preservation of our shared spiritual heritage. By adding our voices to this petition, we help ensure that values of faith, respect for tradition, and religious freedoms are heard and upheld at the highest levels of our state government.
